China-US (Henan) Hormel Cancer Institute conducts research on projects such as carcinogenesis and chemoprevention of esophageal and gastric cancer, carcinogenesis and metastasis mechanism, drug resistance molecular mechanism and combined therapy for lung cancer, inflammation influence on lung cancer recurrence and metastasis, metastatic molecular mechanism and targeting drugs for colorectal cancer, molecular mechanism of breast cancer metastasis and recurrence, and chemoprevention of liver cancer, kinase influence on cancer cells. The institute is in possession of a standard sterile laminar flow animal room with 500 square meters, Caliper IVIS Lumina II, and advanced experimenting condition for cancer-relevant animal experiments. It has established multiple PDX models with more than 2,000 mice for lung cancer, colon cancer and esophageal cancer.
