The People's Republic of China ministry of science and technology, division head of the international cooperation Jia Le, the section chief of the science and technology department inspected the China-US (Henan) Hormel Cancer Institute.

During the discussion, Vice President Kangdong Liu reported on the background and significance of the establishment of the International Joint Research Center for Cancer Chemotherapy, and the achievements of the research center construction. He also shared the experiences of our institute in carrying out international scientific and technological cooperation and exchanges. The difficulties in the construction of the research center and the plans for the next step and suggestions for future work are presented.

After Jia Le listened to the report, she appreciated the construction and operation of the International Joint Research Center for Cancer Chemotherapy, and expressed positive opinions on the active international cooperation, attracting top talents from home and abroad, setting up top research teams, and producing a large number of scientific research results. She said that the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology came to Henan Province to investigate the construction and operation of international science and technology cooperation bases in order to sort out the overall construction ideas of the State-owned Cooperative Base, cooperate with the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Central Organization Department to further complete overseas talent introduction, and include more service guarantee measures in future work plans.

The seminar also focused on the funding channels from the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology. She pointed out that has two funding methods: scientific research cooperation project funding and science and technology aid work. In scientific research projects, in addition to special projects among governments, strategic cooperation special projects are also worthy of attention. Strategic cooperation projects are closely tied to the “One Belt and One Road” strategy proposed by General Secretary Xi, and the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology encourages the National Cooperation Base. She hopes that the Institute will be able to rely on the International Joint Research Center and actively use the funding methods that the International Cooperation Department can provide to carry out extensive and in-depth international scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation.
