The China-US (Henan) Hormel Cancer Institute is developing a body of expert cancer researchers whose goal is to accelerate answers to cancer through groundbreaking discoveries and translational cancer research. Our institute strives to cultivate scientists modeling the international platform of The Hormel Institute USA. We have contracted with The Hormel Institute USA program to train 100 cancer researchers within 5 years and the program is achieving great success. Through training that includes seminars and symposiums led by leading expert scientists and celebrated scholars from around the world, our research scientists are trained and developed in the quest to expand knowledge in how to prevent, control and treat cancer.

Faculty is developed through innovative, career building paths:

· For research scientists and newly inducted post-graduate and doctoral staff, we provide training and an internship platform;

· For support staff, we offer career development opportunities through overseas training with world-renowned medical institutes.

We conduct a weekly literature review seminar for technicians and postdoctoral staff to discuss their research, further their progress and expand their educational experience. To date, the Institute has trained 15 interns, sent 5 employees overseas, and invited more than ten scholars for academic exchanges.
